For $22 for a pair of turndowns I just straight piped mine at the end of the X pipe.

FYI, the E46 mid pipe supports were squished. The exhaust then rested on the cross brace, which is bolted to the chassis. The noise from that went right into and all the way through thr car. It was awful! So noz dont ever weld an exhaust to a car to stop a rattle. It'll be 1,000 times worse.

Sound is subjective. I just sold my e46 m3 and got an f83. To me the F83 is the right level of loud enough without any silly banging and crackling crap (non comp) Its supposed to be a daily usable car.

Bearded guy just shut up. You are all over the place and you're scared to say that it sounds good because it doesn't sound like a V8 chevrolet. And you're terrified to commit to that because then everyone's going to think you're a traitor to the cause. So we're not going to get a straight answer out of you so we don't care what you have to say let's just hear it and let us make our own decisions without you blabbing on You're worried that people will view you as not a purist anymore.

The thing with boost is, it is useless without air density. Let's say you're running 300 psi of boost, but the air density is at 20 lbs per thousand cubic feet, then that's not gonna make a bunch of power. However, if you're running let's says 95 psi, but the air density is at like 200 lbs per thousand cubic feet, you're gonna make huge power. The boost increased there but the hp and torque are reduced. For air-fuel ratio, I'm gonna give an example. Let's say the least lean afr you can get before blowing smoke is 1:10, which means that for 1 part of air comes 10 parts of fuel. Note that this is just an example because I find it easier to explain this way, and yes, it's unrealistic. Top Fuel dragster do run a 0.5:1 or 1:2 afr, which is 1 part of air for 2 parts of nitromethane fuel. It's just an example, the ideal afr for diesle is 14.7:1. So let's say 1:10, you're not blpwing smoke, then 1:11, you're gonna blow smoke, there's no difference in the fuel being combusted inside the cylinder, they're the same 10 parts of fuel. For the 1:11 afr, the extra 1 part that is not combusted got ignited on it's way to exit the exhaust. In rich mixtures, you just waste fuel which potentially could be a hp or torque
